- Log in to the Drupal admin interface as an administrator.
- Go to the Structure menu and select Block Layout
- Choose which region to place the previously created block in.
For more information on Regions please refer to Appendix B. - Select Place block
- Use the Filter by block name or scroll down in the list to find the block you wish to place
- Click on Place block for the block you wish to place
- Update the fields as desired
- Fields may vary depending on which block has been chosen
- Check or Uncheck the Display title checkbox
- Restrict the block to show or hide using the following options:
- Pages - Block will only show/hide for specific pages.
- If you want this block to show up on only specific pages, select Show for the listed pages
- If you want this block to be hidden on only specific pages, select Hide for the listed pages
- Add the URL aliases of the content you wish to show/hide this block on or leave blank for all content
- /path/to/content
- Exact path for a specific content
- /path/*
- All pages that start with /path/to
- /path/to/content
- If you want the block to show on every page of your website, leave the Pages settings as is.
- Content type - Block will only show when specific content is displayed
- Pages - Block will only show/hide for specific pages.
- Double check the Region to make sure it is the one you wish the block to show within
- Click Save block
Blocks can be placed within content using a special paragraph option.
- Log in to the Drupal admin interface as an administrator.
- Navigate to the Edit admin page for the piece of content
- Click on Add Content
- Search for or choose Block in the Other section
- Use the dropdown field to choose the custom block you wish to place
- Update the fields as desired
- Fields may vary depending on which block has been chosen
- Check or Uncheck the Display title checkbox
- Choose if this block is Published or not
- Click Save
